IFRA Names New President and Chairman

Sivac has experience at Coty, Unilever and Henkel.

The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) appointed a new president, Pierre Sivac. A French national, he educated in both France and the U.S. and is an experienced industry executive having worked for major global companies such as Coty, Unilever and Henkel.

Sivac’s recent responsibilities at Coty included Calvin Klein, Cerruti, Chloe, Marc Jacobs and Davidoff. According to IFRA, he is “well placed” to take over from Jean-Pierre Houri, who retires from IFRA at the end of 2010 after five years at the helm.

Sivac will start work at IFRA in November and Houri will continue as president until Dec. 31, 2010 and stay on in an advisory role for a hand-over period during the first quarter of 2011. Sivac will officially become president on Jan. 1, 2011.
